I’ve been working in physiotherapy since 2008, with a long-standing special interest in low back pain, movement, and helping active people stay doing what they love.

My path into physiotherapy began early. From the age of 13 I dealt with ongoing back pain while playing representative hockey, golf and cricket. During those years my best friend’s dad was my physiotherapist, and I would see him three times a week while I was playing rep hockey. Watching how he worked, how he thought about movement, and how he helped me navigate pain and performance sparked my interest in physio long before I ever considered it as a career.

As my own back pain changed and developed over the years, so did my curiosity. I became increasingly interested in why pain happens, how the body adapts, and how movement can be both part of the problem and the solution. That personal experience continues to shape how I work with patients today, particularly those dealing with persistent or complex low back pain.

Professionally, I’ve had the privilege of working with high-level performers across sport and dance, including:

  • Olympic athletes

  • Royal New Zealand Ballet

  • Saints Basketball

  • Professional Boxing

  • Top cricket and rugby teams

  • Wellington and Central men’s, women’s, and age-group hockey programmes

As an athlete, I’ve walked the path my patients are often on. Once a scratch golfer and U18 Hawkes Bay stroke play champion, I won nationals as a hockey player and later played hockey professionally in the Netherlands. Along the way I also faced major, potentially career-ending back injuries. Through careful rehabilitation, smart training, and a deeper understanding of movement, I managed not only to return to sport, but to play better than before. That experience has given me a deep appreciation for resilience, patience, stories of hope and the right kind of rehab.

Clinically, my approach is friendly, thorough, and personalised. I combine hands-on treatment with careful movement assessment, clear explanations, and practical exercises that actually make a difference in everyday life. My aim is to help you understand your body better, move with more confidence, and leave each session with a plan that makes sense for your life.

Alongside clinical work, I’m also CEO of Limber Office. Through Limber, I design evidence-informed workplace solutions that reduce back pain and encourage healthy movement at work, including co-designing what UC Berkeley professors have called “the world’s healthiest desks.” This work in ergonomics and design continually informs my clinical practice, and vice versa.

I practice from Paraparaumu Beach and work with people across the Kapiti Coast. I particularly enjoy working with:

  • People with low back pain or sciatica

  • Pre/Post knee and hip replacements

  • Golfers and other active locals

  • Office workers with posture-related pain

  • Athletes returning from injury

  • Anyone who wants to stay active and moving well as they age

If you’re looking for thoughtful, hands-on care that gets to the cause of your pain and supports your long-term movement, I’d love to help.

How do I know if my injury is covered by ACC?

ACC covers injuries caused by an accident, such as a fall, impact, sudden strain or work-related incident. It generally won’t cover gradual wear and tear or non-injury-related pain (although there are some exceptions).

If you’re unsure, don’t worry. I can help assess your situation during your appointment and guide you through lodging a claim if it looks eligible.
